Introducing the “Shop, Eat, Play-Safely- Southern Illinois Made” Initiative!
Since the COVID-19 pandemic is preventing us from holding the Southern Illinois Made Expo in person this year, we are transitioning our traditional showcase to the “Shop, Eat, Play—Safely—Southern Illinois Made” public relations initiative. This initiative is a combined effort between State Senator Dale Fowler, Shop Southern Illinois, and the Southern Illinois Chambers of Commerce to showcase businesses and promote shopping locally in Southern Illinois. Now more than ever, locally owned businesses can use some support and promotion. Through these videos and additional social media posts, we hope to showcase the great products and services offered in Southern Illinois.
Local businesses always benefit from community support and promotion, but COVID-19 has made this particularly important. By implementing the “Shop, Eat, Play—Safely—Southern Illinois Made” initiative we can help locally-owned businesses showcase what they have to offer in a unique format. By putting an emphasis on shopping locally during the month of November and December, we hope we can make the “Small Business Saturday” national holiday on November 28 more successful than ever.

Local Products, Local Destinations, Local Jobs, Local Chambers
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s highly anticipated Southern Illinois Made Expo must be postponed until 2021. Despite these unexpected circumstances, we are working diligently to make sure next year’s expo will be even bigger and better!
The Southern Illinois Made Expo was designed to promote the local business community in Southern Illinois and allow the opportunity for businesses to showcase their products, services and destinations, and we intend to continue this tradition in 2021. In the meantime, we will be doing all we can to promote small businesses and shopping locally.
Senator Fowler and our Chambers are excited to continue the Southern Illinois Made Expo for years to come. It is our top priority to make sure Southern Illinois exhibitors will get the chance to display their innovative products, unique creations, tasty treats, and fabulous destinations in the future at The Pavilion in Marion, Illinois.
Since 2018, Senator Fowler has made it his mission to donate all Southern Illinois Made Expo proceeds to the Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois. If you are interested in donating or registering for the 2021 Southern Illinois Made Expo please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
We hope you will join us in 2021 as we showcase how Southern Illinois has come back even stronger!
